Robot kitchen startup Aniai (CEO Hwang Gun-pil) won the "Kitchen Innovation Awards" at the NRA (National Restaurant Association) show, the world's largest restaurant fair.
The NRA show is an annual restaurant fair held in Chicago in May, and is the largest event in the industry with more than 50,000 restaurant officials. The "Kitchen Innovation Awards" will be awarded to products that have received high reviews from restaurant experts such as technology and innovation. Aniai is the first Korean food tech cooking robot company to win the Kitchen Innovation Awards.
Aniai's hamburger cooking robot "Alpha Grill" was well received for providing a solution to the manpower shortage and operating profit reduction faced by the restaurant industry and presenting a vision for a next-generation kitchen where artificial intelligence robots and people work together. In other words, the "Made in Korea" cooking robot developed purely by Aniai with its own technology has been verified for its potential in the U.S., the home of hamburgers.
Through this event, Aniai met with officials from major hamburger franchises in the United States and presented a cooking demonstration at the booth. Alpha Grill cooked more than 3,000 hamburgers in a space implemented in the same way as the kitchen environment, attracting great response from local buyers who have strict standards for commercial kitchen products.
"It is meaningful that Alpha Grill is the first cooking robot in Korea to win the Kitchen Innovation Awards and be recognized for its innovation," said Hwang Geon-pil, CEO of Aniai. "We will deliver the differentiated values that Aniai pursues to U.S. restaurant officials and accelerate market dominance."
